Those who play 2K5 on PS2 are casual fans and dont care about all the extra stuff. Those who are hardcore fans switched to Xbox.

Besides NFL Head Coach, 2k5 is the most sophisticated franchise mode in any football game, although Madden NFL 12 looks like they're finally getting serious about theirs, but I'd be shocked if it's as good as 2k5.
