On April 2, 2024, a second church, Greater Union Baptist Church in Opelousas, Louisiana, was set on fire. The third church, Mount Pleasant Baptist Church also in Opelousas, was set alight on April 4, 2024. Holden Matthews was arrested on April 10 and charged with three counts of arson.
